Arriving at the airport according to the schedule has been the finest homecoming ever after 18 days in the frozen land of Antarctica. Upon her return she wore jeans, a sweatshirt, sneakers, and her cheerful smile. Because she incorporated space science in her classes, she was chosen for this Mars like continent. Once in a lifetime was this learning experience for the students. Learning happens when things are tied in. Having an explorer for a teacher means that kids live science and history.
In the same way as students back home conduct experiments on rocks, temperature, and gravity, she did the same thing on the trip. The teacher relayed data to students in 11 classrooms via satellite phone and email. From the questions to the answers, all were rather side splitting. Engineers of the dam, located in Yichang City, central Hubei Province, said the water level of the Three Gorges reservoir, which dropped a few centimeters over the weekend, might now rise to break its record high of the year - 158.86 meters, or 13.86 meters above the warning line.
Authorities said a new round of flood waters would gush into the Three Gorges reservoir on Monday after days of rainstorms swelled branches of the Yangtze on the upper reaches.
On last Tuesday, the flow on the river’s upper reaches topped 70,000 cubic meters a second when it reached the Three Gorges reservoir, about 20,000 cubic meters more than the flow during the 1998 floods that killed 4,150 people and the highest level since the dam was completed last year.
Engineers said Monday’s flood flow is not likely to exceed last Tuesday’s peak.
Floods in China this year had left 742 people dead and 367 missing as of last Friday. Premier Wen Jiabo has told local authorities to be fully aware of the “grave flood-control situation” and to prepare for more serious flooding.

While it’s tempting to want to bring your pet with you, some animals aren’t suited to travel. So before you bring your ‘best friend’ with you, go through the following checklist first:

Preparation

Start with short trips, such as 5 or 10 minute drives. And always remember to end the trip with a positive reward, such as a special treat or fun activity. Slowly lengthen the trips to 30 minutes or one hour.
Safety on the Road
If you travel with your kids, you always fasten their seatbelts. Do the same for your pets. It’s a must for you to restrain your pet as you travel. A variety of restraints are available that offer added mobility and provide an option to the traditional metal travel crate. Think safety harnesses that can attach to any seatbelt, or even safety gates that will allow your pet some mobility in their own space, as you travel. Sturdy, well ventilated crates are a must for smaller animals, such as cats, that normally don’t travel as much as dogs.
If you roll using one of those big RV’s, you do have more freedom and flexibility, but you still need to be aware of the basics. Make sure all items, such as food or medicine, are properly stowed and secured inside your RV. To avoid injury to loose animals during sudden stops and turns, block off small areas with baby gates. No matter what type of vehicle you drive, you will need to stop every few hours for a pet pit stop. And always remember to put the leash on your pet before you open the vehicle’s doors.
Bring a Pet Travel Kit
Don’t forget to pack a separate bag for your animal. To avoid an upset stomach, take some of his favorite food, as well as a gallon of water because water characteristics change regionally. YICHANG, is a small city in Hubei Province,China - Flood flow is set to peak again on Monday at China’s Three Gorges Dam on the swollen Yangtze River, forcing the water levels of the dam’s reservoir to surge again.
Engineers of the dam, located in Yichang City, central Hubei Province, said the water level of the Three Gorges reservoir, which dropped a few centimeters over the weekend, might now rise to break its record high of the year - 158.86 meters, or 13.86 meters above the warning line.
Authorities said a new round of flood waters would gush into the Three Gorges reservoir on Monday after days of rainstorms swelled branches of the Yangtze on the upper reaches.
On last Tuesday, the flow on the river’s upper reaches topped 70,000 cubic meters a second when it reached the Three Gorges reservoir, about 20,000 cubic meters more than the flow during the 1998 floods that killed 4,150 people and the highest level since the dam was completed last year.
Engineers said Monday’s flood flow is not likely to exceed last Tuesday’s peak.
Floods in China this year had left 742 people dead and 367 missing as of last Friday. Premier Wen Jiabo has told local authorities to be fully aware of the “grave flood-control situation” and to prepare for more serious flooding.
