Literally thousands of tourists are drawn to the city every year, all of who have grown to love the city for all of its charms and unique characteristics.

Barcelona seems to occupy a lofty position in many travel guides, and for good reason. The city is one of the most tourist friendly destinations in Spain, with loads of options for holiday accommodations, ranging from modestly priced budget hotels to tastefully decorated holiday apartments. And if you want to stay in the city in style, there are lots of lavishly designed first class hotels as well. No matter what your travel budget is, you will surely find Barcelona an accommodating city.

So what is there to do and see in Barcelona? Your options are virtually endless and there is plenty of variety with regard to places to go and things to do. In fact there is so much going on in the city that there is no way that you can take in everything in the span of only a few days.

For starters, you can check out any of the many restaurants and cafes in Las Ramblas. The culinary delights that you can find in this quaint street is a subject that is enough to fill up another article entirely, but for now we will focus on the aspect of Las Ramblas that is just as satisfying, albeit in a different way. Quite simply, the street is the perfect place for a casual walk or to simply lounge around the many benches. There are numerous flower shops, interesting bookstores and curio shops, and even market stalls that sell everything from local delicacies to pets.

For entertainment, Las Ramblas also has scores of street performers, artists, musicians and a host of charming street characters that defy description. All of these make Las Ramblas one of the most fascinating streets that you will find in Barcelona or elsewhere for that matter.

Head straight towards the port district and even more impressive sights await at the Paseo de Colon Boulevard. Of course the beach is one of the most popular attractions of this thoroughfare, but even if you don’t like to get your feet wet there is plenty to do and see. The harbor alone is enough for hours and hours of sightseeing and more strolling, and a trek up the San Sebastia Tower is a must for anyone who wants a glimpse of the best features of the city. There is even an aquarium where you can find a truly impressive display of sea creatures from all over the world. And if you feel the need to see even more of the city from high above, the tower is the starting point for a cable car service that will take you to Montjuic.

All of these are just a few of the attractions that Barcelona has in store for you. With loads of options for hotel accommodations, there is simply no reason why you shouldn’t consider Barcelona for your next getaway!

You Must Visit Granada South Spain
By Gaizka Pujana

Although not quite a household name among more casual tourists yet, the city has long been a well-kept secret by the world’s most seasoned and jaded travelers. This secret is not expected to last much longer however, as word about the unique treasures and characteristics of this charming city is bound to get out sooner than later!

Granada sets itself apart from other more popular tourist destinations with its gorgeous natural features, its rich cultural heritage, and the distinctive charm of its local residents. In addition to these attractions, Granada can also boast of an active social scene characterized by vibrant bars and clubs that cater to the younger crowds, and beach parties that last until dawn. There are plenty of venues that offer live entertainment as well, and drinks are inexpensively priced.

Before you head out to check out what Granada’s nightlife has to offer however, you will want to make sure that you have a place to rest when all that partying is done. Thankfully the city has loads of options in hotel accommodations ranging from picturesque villas and holiday apartments, to budget hotels that are ideal accommodations for students and back packers. Check out Cortijo la Loma Granero for a very reasonably priced lodging house that offers a private pool and tastefully appointed rooms. Another lodging house worth checking out is Cortijo la Loma Villa, which is set amidst the lush green of olive trees.

Being an internationally known tourist destination, Granada of course has enough gustatory treasures to satisfy the palettes of an international clientele. If you want to have your fill of some familiar dish from back home, you will probably find something in the many restaurants to please your palate. That being said, you would be missing out if you didn’t at least try out that most delectable of Spanish culinary contributions called the tapas bar. Meson del Jambon is one these places, and it is well known in the city for its delectable Cerano ham. Other restaurants that are worthy of mention are Mirador de Morayma, which offers traditional Spanish cuisine, Lago di Como with its distinctly Italian flavor, and Bar Kiki for its superb summer lunch menu and its extensive wine selection.

Granada has plenty to offer with regard to natural and cultural attractions as well. The stunning Royal Chapel is a must-see for the grandeur of its architecture as well as for being the burial place of Spanish monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella. Granada’s Arabic heritage is also well evident in the awe-inspiring Alhambra palace. Impressive Moorish architectural touches combined with quaint gardens scattered throughout the palace make this one of the most stunning man made sights in the city.

These are only a few of the sights and treasures that await the traveler to Granada. Suffice to say that there remains a lot more to be discovered in this fabulous city.

The Unique Charm of Stockholm
By Gaizka Pujana

The city is actually comprised of 14 islands, a terrain that makes it quite a spectacle for the senses as you can imagine. In fact, the unique blend of manmade and natural attractions is what makes the city so distinctive. Even right at the heart of the city you will see swimmers taking a dip or fishing from the many bodies of water that dot the landscape.

Travelers will surely appreciate the fact that Stockholm is one of the most tourist friendly cities in Europe with regard to hotel accommodations. It is surprisingly easy to find a good place to stay for the night, whether you are looking for a first class hotel or budget hotels are what you are after. First class hotel options include the Radisson SAS Royal Viking Hotel, which offers top rate accommodations and elegant dcor, the Sheraton Hotel Stockholm, with its almost 500 tastefully decorated rooms and luxurious interiors, and the Lady Hamilton Hotel, which offers superb value for money.

Some of the budget hotels in the Stockholm area are Rex Hotel, which is a family run operation that features gorgeous hardwood floors in all the rooms, Comfort Hotel Wellington which is set apart by its distinctly personalized service, and the Hotel Arcadia which is one of the most picturesque budget hotels in town.

With the issue of hotel accommodations out of the way, what is there to do in Stockholm? The good news is that there is plenty, and you are only limited by how much time you have to take them all in. Definitely one of the most culturally and historically significant cities in Europe, Stockholm is gifted with an abundance of galleries, museums, gardens and other cultural establishments that serve as rich reminders of the city’s glorious history. The Royal palace is particularly worthy of mention, as is the center part of the old town.

One thing that cultural travelers will surely appreciate in Stockholm is that the city has made considerable effort to preserve these monuments to their past as well as their abundant natural treasures. As a result, you will see majestic architectural displays standing right at the heart of lush and colorful gardens, making Stockholm a city that is truly wondrous to behold.

Stockholm is also the home to a vibrant nightlife, with crowds of people dancing up a storm several nights a week. The drinks can be quite expensive but with the music and the crowds providing a lively atmosphere, it is well worth it. Some of the bars and clubs worth checking out are Cafe Opera, which is an oddly named popular nightclub, Fasching, a jazz club that features many of the areas finest musicians, and Biblios.
