Antarctica Adventure that Will Last a Lifetime

Snow and the cold is something this gentleman likes after working for the Atigun Pass, high above the Trans Alaska Pipeline. Hence, once this retired civil engineering expert heard more about the local university’s alumni association’s plans to travel to the white kingdom, Antarctica, he began to be all excited. This made me think of it as a marvelous idea. Antarctica has been mesmerizing real explorers even armchair ones in spite of its reputation of being the coldest and least hospitable place on Earth.
But the White Continent is not an easy or cheap place to get to so each year, lesser travelers come and see it. Challenging indeed for before one can reach the Antarctic Peninsula, he has to start from Argentina’s southernmost city known as Ushuaia, travel a thousand kilometers for a couple of days through the Drake Passage, grim with the world’s roughest sea weather.
Such experiences are not only profound, but are also life changing. Men traverse this land since the late 1800s after it has been discovered in 1820. But there were no commercial voyages to the region until after a few years after that the Antarctic Treaty was ratified, specifically in the year 1959, after this land was established as a natural reserve, a place for peace and science to thrive.

If all tourists, companies and natural programs would comply with the good operational and conservation practices, the region would remain unblemished.
He adds that television shows further compound the problem as these make us think that animals including the thousands of penguins that finds home only in Antarctica as just forms of entertainment. Animals begin to ease out if they are used to the human presence. But this long term disassociation from the real world has become a huge quandary. Conservationists do not readily agree. But as people come into Antarctica, he argues, the more tourists will feel for this continent.
